Inquire nowPumping stations in a water distribution system are necessary where water is pumped directly into the system (e.g. from a lake) or where pressure has to be increased because there is an insufficient difference in water levels in gravity flow distribution systems. There are two general types of pumps: vertical turbine pumps and centrifugal pumps.
Inquire nowThe premises of the pumping station should be clean and well-maintained. The setup must be designed to ensure proper ventilation and illumination. The engine and the pumping units must be spread out to provide ample space for operation, maintenance, repairs, and cleaning. Figure-1: Layout of a pumping station 2. Setting up the Pumps
Inquire nowA vertical line shaft turbine pump is a centrifugal pump, usually having from 1 to 20 stages, used in wells. The pump is located at or near the pumping level of water in the well, but is driven by an electric motor or internal combustion engine on the ground surface. Power is transmitted from the motor to the pump by a vertical drive shaft.
Inquire nowLong-Term Model for the Optimal Design and Operation of Pumping Stations and Regulation Reservoir The formulation of the optimal pump scheduling problem relies on the following set of assumptions: (a) Pump Groups Each pumping station includes one or more combinations of parallel pumps.
